Veterinarians answer horse health questions
Common health problems in horses will be featured in a horse meeting March 13 at Ida Grove, Iowa.
The meeting will be from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Public Library.
“There are a variety of health issues that horse owners routinely deal with - such as colic, emergency first aid, vaccination schedules and de-worming programs,” said Beth Doran, ISU Extension beef field specialist. “This meeting offers horse owners the opportunity to engage in a discussion concerning their specific issues.”
Veterinarians Loretta Berkland and Alan Carlson will briefly discuss the kinds of equine problems they treat in their daily practice. However, the majority of the program will be a discussion and answer session with the two expert veterinarians.
Participants are encouraged to come with questions they would like to see addressed.
Registration is $15 per person for the meeting and is due March 11 to the Ida County Extension Office, 209 Morehead Ave., Ida Grove, IA 51445.
For a brochure or information, feel free to call the Ida County Extension Office at (712) 364-3003.
